It's Diva Heaven as Linn Record's most popular and award winning sirens Claire Martin and Barb Jungr join forces to bring you an intimate evening of concert jazz cabaret. These fabulous singers are accompanied by 2 of Britain's hottest jazz musicians, Gareth Williams on piano and guitar and Geoff Gascoyne on basses.

Claire Martin, winner of no less than 4 British Jazz Awards for "Best Vocalist" is one of our most accomplished contemporary singers having just released her 9th album. She has toured all over the world and sung with some of Jazz's greatest protagonists. Her close friend, Barb Jungr, has made her own name as a truly exciting and innovative chansonnier, vocalist and commedienne. The combination of these two huge talents is truly wonderful.

The programme promises stylish reworkings of classic jazz repertoire side by side with songs penned by such diverse greats as Bob Dylan and Cole Porter; Jacques Brel and Leonard Bernstein.

For Claire Martin

"the best jazz singer for a generation" (Mojo)

"talented and hip beyond her years...the most exciting jazz star to soar to my attention in a decade..." (Rex reed - New York Observer)

"Claire Martin is a wonderful artist. She swings and has such warmth to her voice..." (Stephane Grappelli)

"In an era when young jazz singers tend to sound far too much like their idols, there's no mistaking the voice of claire martin, who combines a cool, burnished tone with the ear of a born musician." (James Gavin, Village voice)

"Martin never has to strain for a measure of soulfulness a la aretha, but she possesses all the self-confidence and daring of the smoothest jazz improvisers.." (Clive Davis, The Times)

"This is the voice of the modern woman in jazz - swinging, confident, "the female in command", as the writer Fay Weldon has put it." (The Telegraph)

"With her new album, "Make This City Ours", Claire Martin has made a masterpiece." (Time Out)

"Claire martin has propelled herself into world class." (The Stage)

"Martin hitches an almost immaculate technique, which blends a warm yet instrument-like accuracy, with deft timing." (The Guardian)

For Barb Jungr:

"Jungr's sensual performance casts these songs in a new light" (The Times)

"Shockingly expressive, with an astonishing palette of colours... Jungr repeatedly reawakens detailed emotions lying dormant in lyrics... hope that Dylan has a listen and starts writing for her direct." (The Observer)

"immaculate " (The Times)

"glamorous and crazed... an outstanding cabarettist" (The Daily Telegraph)

"A singer of immense range, power and emotional rapport... she is quite unlike any other singer I can recall... vocally she is unique" (What's On In London)

"an artistic tour de force" (Boz Magazine)
